Ten outdoor Eclipse Stations will be set up across the USC campus on 8/21 and staffed by USC Eclipse Ambassadors from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Learn about the eclipse, see the sun through a solar telescope, play some games, and get tips for safe viewing and how to get the most out of the eclipse.
Station 10: Surprising Physics
Learn some of the ways that principles of physics are revealed in our everyday experiences. How is riding a bike related to the formation of the solar system? What can we learn about the solar corona by making your hair stand up? Explore the surprising world of physics hidden in plain sight.
This event will be handing out free eclipse glasses to guests courtesy of the City of Columbia, S.C.! Available on event date and time only.
Located at USC’s East Campus in Columbia, S.C., hosted by USC Dept. of Physics and Astronomy.
